  • FAA Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR's)

Living where I do (in the Baltimore/Washington area) I get quite a few of these TFR's when VIP's are coming in to town and so forth.  This one however kind of cracked me up (see the line in BOLD print.... Seriously???? They are worried about Control line planes??  LOL!

    Current TFRs:

    Posted 9/9/15

A FAA NOTAM/TFR has been issued for the area surrounding Ft Meade, MD for Friday, 9/11, from 2:15p until 5:00p EDT. The TFR is issued for security purposes to cover VIP movement in this area. Outdoor radio control model aircraft operations are prohibited within the 28nm circle for the specific times listed below. Control Line and Free Flight modelers should use discretion when operating within the TFR. Please note that TFRs are subject to change with very short notice. Check back often for the most current NOTAM/TFR information. Timely alerts are also available on the web or on your cell phone at: Twitter.com/amagov.

See the link to the TFR below for more detailed information regarding the restrictions.

RE: FAA Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR's)

When dealing with bureaucratic please be aware that contrary to how they appear they aren’t stupid.

In government there is no reward for taking risks. In fact if you take a risk you often wind up in front of a congressional hearing.

These bureaucratic are protecting their retirement (entitlements). Most really don’t make a good wage working for the government. It is the retirement package that most are actually working towards.

So by control line they aren’t thinking what you are thinking. But rather this a TOW.

That is why in the most abstract thinking they put that CYA statement in the TFR.

    All the best,

        Hi Flygirl!

Our flying field is within a 3 mile radius of Chicago O'Hare Airport and we get those Notams all the time and it always seems to land on a great flying weather day and they say the same thing about control line flying. Conrad is probably right because my past dealings with some FAA people showed me common sense was not their fortay.

But the FAA is logical to the letter of the regulation. So if you can point to another reg, that allows for a more "common sense" interpretation they will gladly accommodate you.

They aren't stupid. They won't risk their retirement for your whim, or what you might think is common sense.

Self protection of one's retirement makes perfect sense to me.

          All the best,
          Konrad

.It's been my experience that the majority of Bureaucrats are not worth their weight in crap !! 99% of the ones I've met or delt with were all about number one THEMSELVES......
In my years of observation they all need a major reality reboot. They are too big and have way too much power , they all need the stool kicked out from under them .
Our country needs a Enima to clean out the stupid sh#t and start using better judgement and morals
I'm not antigovernment just anti Bureaucrat .
Sorry if pis##d anyone but I don't care the truth hurts

The problem lies in the legislators. And that can all be brought back to the guy (gal) looking back at you in the mirror.

Become an informed voter and vote.

(This is not pointed at anyone in particular, just the populous at large)

One thing I never discuss with friends, especially when everyone is so polarized, is politics so I'll sit this one out guys. :)

We're not talking politics, rather governance.

                    I know that's splitting hairs.

It (politics) shouldn't be so polarized, and it wouldn't be with proper education and discussion.
