FMS 1400 series metal retract braces

I just received my metal retract braces from SMALL PARTS CNC today and installed them tonight. It took one hour and no filling or drilling of the trunion post hole,they fit right on. Just do one side at a time. They work great!. Excellent product well worth 40.00. I going to retro fit my Corsair next.

Great to hear you got them Roy.  I have them on both my P51's and you'd break the wing before you'd break the landing gear.  Wouldn't it be something if the manufacturers could figure this one out?
I notice on the new P40B unboxing that FMS has made some great changes, but, unfortunately, the landing gear still has the plastic bases.  So that means we'll have to swap them out which will add to the price.  I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that there is an alternative though.

  I don't mind spending 40.00 if it will save buying new wings or landing gear. Definitely more expensive.

Has anyone retrofitted a 1400 mm FMS Corsair with these, or are the kits for rotating retracts out yet?

  Yes Small Parts CNC has just come out with side braces for the FMS 1400 Corsair for the rotating retracts. I'm going to order a set for mine and I don't anticipate any problems with them having just installed the ones for my P-51B. They are easy to install and work great. Good luck and good flying!
