  • WW1 biplane documentary

There is a Nova documentary on Netflix about the development of the WW1 biplane. There is a group in New Zealand who build WW1 planes to exact original specs, right down to the oil spewing engines! I didn't know the British S.E.5A made the German Albatross obsolete. Very interesting. Doc

I'll have to check that out. I've had a thing for biplanes since I was little boy watching stearmans crop dust chasing them back and forth with a toy plane in my hand. My parkzone se5a is one of my favorite planes.

After I watched this, I had to blow the dust off my PZ S.E.5a and take her out for a spin. Lots of fun. I'm sure glad I bought one before they stopped making them. Doc

I have a Dynaflite SE 5a kit I plan on building this winter, don't think I will go electric on it though. I have a Saito 120 and a DLE 20cc looking for a home. I will choose one of those, I can't give up on the fossil fuel just yet. I like the sound and smell.

Hey Doc-Thanks so much for that lead. I will definitely be looking that up in Netflix and watching it. I love the old WWI biplanes, so that will be a lot of fun for me.

          THANKS!!

Hey Doc, I saw that one too, what a dedicated bunch they are!  Pretty cool to see just what they were like.  Too bad our Gov't can't sponsor something like that instead of seeing shrimp will run on a tread mill or fight!!
