Modification: moving control board front

Has any moved their control board to the frofr? If so how did you extend your wire connector so that the wing connections could reach the control board? I am try to does the mods in this video but the guy doesn't discuss how he increase the length of this wire. Thanks.

I haven't done this but take a look in his video and you can see lots of heat shrink tubing. I'm guessing he just cut those wires and spliced in the needed pieces of similar gauge wires to make them longer. Looks like he soldered, then put heat shrink on the bare sections.
