Thanks Alpha! Flew last weekend with some other pilots of Sea Furys. We had 3 in the air, 2 Avios and 1 eflite. All of the Sea Furys are running custom power trains. The other Avios with the 4 blade is running an APC 15.5x12 with a Turnigy 650kv motor. It is the speed demo of the pack makes a mean noise on a flyby. The eflite has a Durafly Spitfire 5 blade and the Rochobby 770kv motor on 3S, also quite the speed demon with unlimited vertical. After flying, we stopped to get a few pictures of them together.

How you check the CG on your Sea Fury? With the gear up or down? I am just curious now.

I checked it with gear up. I would recommend starting at 85mm from the LE. It took a 4000 4S all the way forward for mine to balance.

Just found this thread, and thought I'd chime in.

I also picked one up for $90 shipped. It sat for awhile, but I finally built it. I raked the gear forward, and changed the wheels. I also removed and re-glued the retract pockets. I had a stock 5-blade prop explode on testing run up, and it was pretty gutless with the stock 4 blade. I bought a prop, spinner and prop shaft from Motion (of course). I used the set up from a 1400mm V8 FMS P-51. It's pretty much a drop in replacement. All you have to do is drill out the back of the prop shaft, maybe 3/16".

I'm running the stock motor and ESC, and have the timer set at 7:30. The battery (5500 4s) ESC and motor come down barely warm to the touch. I land with 3.85 or so in each cell. The larger diameter prop looks much more scale, and performance is noticeably improved. The only down side is there is a small gap from the back of the spinner to the cowl, but it doesn't bother me in the least. There's room to Dremel it out and reduce the gap, if you're patient and committed.

I highly recommend this mod. It's super easy, gives a big boost in performance, and you don't have to hunt for the unobtainable replacement props from HK...
I hate that motorcycle they make me ride. I'm here to tell you, there ain't nothing in the world I hate more than that elephant under my ass.
