  • Too much too soon?

Hello I’ve always wanted to get into RC planes and got a good deal on an extra 300 1.3 and a Mustang 51 1.2 i’m guessing the mustang will be easier to fly says it has flaps I am a beginner or should I put both of these on the shelf and get a beginner plane? I have only $200 invested in both planes. One of those deals too good to pass up with the batteries and transmitter.

    Depends on which mustang.

Dynam is not true scale and has changes to make it easier to fly.
With flaps down appx 7 deg it becomes even more easy to handle.
Also push the battery forward a little to move the CG to the forward limit of CG range.

Other Mustangs may not do as well for a beginner even with the above.

There is no way to make the Extra 300 appropriate as a trainer.

Even with a true trainer design, it is important to get help for at least the first flight. Getting the aircraft "trimmed" by an experienced RC flyer will greatly improve your chance of success.
FF gliders and rubber power since 1966, CL 1970-1990, RC since 1975.

current planes from 1/2 oz to 22 lbs
