  • Vietnam Aircraft - Honoring Vietnam Veterans!

The Mission of this thread is to honor Vietnam Veterans by requesting Motion RC to produce more foamies from the Vietnam era over the next two years. I reached out to Horizon Hobby several years ago and was ignored. As a veteran owned company, it was be awesome to see Motion RC take the lead in honoring Vietnam veterans with model aircraft that served while they served.....an era that has been overlooked for far too many years and it's a real shame. :(

Here's my first of many requests......the Martin B-57B Canberra.

From a marketing stand point, the Canberra served with a lot of militaries and it could be offered with two nose sections and two different schemes...SEA and possibly silver for early USAF & Foreign markings. This would make an outstanding Freewing medium jet bomber.

Please post your request for Vietnam era aircraft below....thanks!

As a Nam vet, I couldn't agree more. We are fortunate that we do have the A6 and F-86 represented for EDF's but a Canberra would certainly qualify under Alpha's caveat for a never done before candidate. The thing I really like about this airframe is that it meets my mantra of being more fun because it is a twin...... .
I obviously have to link my dream thread here too.

We have several Canberra's here at the Mesa CAF. I'd love to see one. In addition to: A-37 Dragonfly, F-105 Thud, and a well detailed and scale twin 80mm F-4!

            Hey xplane,
For those that aren't aware, the first Gulf War that occurred in Kuwait which is widely known as Desert Storm was the largest buildup at that time frame of American forces since the VietNam War and as such I thank you too brother for your service.

Great thread, honoring our military veterans should always be top of mind! The Canberra would make a great flier as I said earlier. The longer and narrower engine pods worry me slightly, but that can be worked around, a la the Me-262. Wing spars would likely penetrate the duct; depending on the model's size the foam wall alone wouldn't be enough to sufficiently support the outer wing.
