  • Please Welcome Our First Moderator Team!

Please welcome doctormike and Grossman56 as our new moderators!

We look forward to having them help continue to build this forum community. Moving forward please direct any and all forum-related issues, questions, flag reports, etc to either doctormike or Grossman56. Any serious issues will be moved appropriately up the chain and will be dealt with promptly.

We are currently working on a Hobby Squawk Rules and Regulations policy directive that will be visible to all of our members in the coming weeks. We ask for your continued patience as we continue to build Hobby Squawk and transition from the old platform to this new one.

Please join us in welcoming our first moderator team!

I certainly hope the rules and regulation policy isn't like the other forums that many of the current Hobby Squawk members were complaining about. I believe that was so many of them came over to this forum.

Boomer, great question. Hobbysquawk was founded on the principle of openness and objectivity. Motion RC sponsors the website, but we actively encourage people to discuss anything RC Flight-related, regardless of what brand it is or who sells it. To date, the basic guidelines have been to treat people fairly, politely, with an open mind to both teach and learn from one another. We'll be publishing clear rules very soon, but don't expect it to be anything out of the ordinary than what we have already come to all love so much about Hobbysquawk. The published rules will essentially codify what we consider "common sense", and will be based upon ideas such as treat others how you want to be treated, avoid profanity and bullying, keep an open mind to other's contributions, respect one another, and remember in all our discourse that this is a HOBBY where we all escape to have FUN.

          So, let's have FUN!

Hey Guys and gals, thanks for the welcome!
I'm so proud to have been chosen as I think this is a great Forum and we all intend to see it stay that way. I joined the forum before my first airplane arrived and did a lot of reading listening and learning from the great people of the site. This is something I'm passionate about passing on to the next guy or girl who comes on to see what its all about and looking for answers, the very reason I started, "All Us Newbies...", which I'm so proud of. I dropped in there the other day to see whether anyone had left a message and was thrilled to see that over 105,000 hits, simply amazing. And speaking of amazing, we have an amazing group of knowledgeable people on this site who are very willing to pass on their hard won knowledge. This coupled with the fact that we have an terrific company willing to create and maintain a forum that doesn't restrict itself to only the products they carry makes this a very unique place to hang out.
And , hey, don't think I'm still not learning. I'm trying to wrap my old brain around the relationship between ESC/Motor/ and Prop
Don't hesitate to make contact with me or Dr. Mike or any of the gang for that matter if problems arise, but I'm betting that the problems will be minimal as, again, we have such a great group of people.
Btw, I'm really impressed with all the new people in the past couple of months, welcome to you all, I'm getting to recognize a lot of new people, especially the folks from "Down Under" (What does chunder mean anyway?) and what a great contribution you all are making!

Okay, so the only drag about being a moderator??
I don't qualify for the monthly sweepstakes!!!!:(
Dang!!! and me with over 1500 posts, oh well, I don't have any room anyway LOL!!

                      (This is a sticky topic)

Congrats gents! As a Moderator on another RC forum, I know how this job can be sometimes. So far this seems like a nice chill place (same as the forum I moderate), so not much real work to do. But I have faith you guys will help keep the place "clean". :)

Congrats Doc and GMan. I have respected advice given by both and have learned a lot. I don't post much since all my post are done with a phone and being old ( 60 the 20th this month) with dry skin that is touch screen unfriendly. Anyhow you guys are great ambassadors for this great hobby and forum. Keep up the great work.
