For the time being till you get a replacement, take the gear strut off and try to fill the cracks with liquid steel epoxy and wrap it with fibre tape before it cures. As far as replacing the tires, I've tried Dubro tires to take care of the bounce and it does help somewhat but the tires I used had such soft sidewalls, that after the plane touched down, it would almost naturally veer to one side or the other and cause the tire sidewall to flex badly. I used 6" inflatable rubber tires with no air added. Adding air would make them too hard and there would be no benefit. I went back to the stock tires and just practiced landing repeatedly till the bounce was minimized. Keeping some speed and not using full flaps on landing helps a lot. Flying it onto the ground is the key. It doesn't help for short landings but it won't bounce nearly as much.
I had good luck eliminating most bounces by removing the dual "shocks" on the main wheels. They really are just springs, with no dampening ability at all. I replaced them with 1 shock on each axel. I used Pro-Line scaler shocks 90mm-95mm filled with 32.5 weight shock oil. They needed a stiffer spring to keep the shocks extended. They come with 3 springs. 1 long one to use for single rate, or 2 shorter ones to combine for dual rates. I added a short one to my long spring and adjusted to a stiffer setting. That worked at the cost of limiting total shock travel but still made smoother landings much easier. I recently added the Dubro 6" inflatable tires with no extra air added to smooth out touchdowns even more. Love the setup so far, but would suggest shocks with stiffer springs and maybe slightly longer travel.
