  • plane crashes

Got my nephew an eflite citation and an nx8, he's flown a decent amount in the past so probably doesn't need 'safe', but when he flew plane, it took off and then rolled over to the right and crashed two times and apparently with 'safe' on (i wasn't there, but he's a smart guy so i'm guessing this is accurate). Is this a radio or transmitter issue? Thoughts?

There could be a number of things going on and there is no way to tell with the information at hand.

Assuming no modification was made to the plane.

Switching Safe off in a turn can result in the plane rolling in.

Always test the controls. I don't know if this plane needs servo reversing in the TX or not, but improper.setup and verification of the controls could cause this. The manual on eflite planes has specific setup instructions. Similarly a stuck aileron could be the cause.

Check the receiver board. If it is loose, the gyro will not know what end is up.

    Good luck

Also, did he leave the plane on a level surface for several seconds after he plugged the battery in? If the plane is moved, SAFE won't know where level is. SAFE can sometimes outsmart the smartest person.
