I would like to ask you all a question about our range of TechOne models. What is it you like or dislike about them. I do realize they are not warbirds or jets, but they are great sport models and many of them are great indoor models. They are also great practice planes. So if you don't have a lot of time to spare you can fly one almost anywhere and still keep you hand in ready for when you go out with the latest EDF jet.

If you have access to a large hall you can fly indoors when tis to cold or wet to fly outside. Some of the range can be flown indoor or out side.

Most are simple to assemble and the Air Titan is available with lights if you want to try your hand at night flying. You will find something for everyone in the TechOne range of models.

I enjoy my Techone models for their low cost and unique flying habits. Some of them require more assembly/gluing than the "PNPs" from Freewing, FMS, etc. The Popwings are gobs of fun, and the Neptune is a sweet flyer. I'm not much of an indoor pattern flyer, but the Piaget and Vanth are perfect for that. I've flown the smaller 800mm 3D profiles like the Yak 55, which requires some assembly, but results in a smooth fun flyer to practice maneuvers on before translating to my larger 3D aircraft. I sort of regard the smaller 3D profile Techone as a sort of "living simulator".

The 1200mm Swift is a lot of fun for such an inexpensive plane. Power to hover and do just about anything my 3DHS' can do.

Hello Martin, I for one, like the quality of the products- motor & ESC. They appear to be, of a better quality then other Manufactures. Also, they pack the model with extra parts! Now, I'm speaking of a specific model I have; the Saturn. It's like a suitcase airplane, you can take to the field and fly right out of the box! I honestly think tech-one makes a super trainer, type airplane better than most. There is always going to be a necessary fix, or better way to mount something. With this model, one thing people do- is update the wing mounting in the leading edge. The pilots who do this, are more aerobatic pilots, for doing higher speed loops, rolls, things like that. I've had some difficult weather this years, as well as different venue of things I do on the weekend. I will have more photos and Flight videos coming soon! Summer, should be a good time to show the world, these new models. Yes, pilots who are interested. Let us know- what you think or feel about the Tech-one line-up!

My buddy and I was having a ball with one of his 3D profiles (generic, don't recall the brand) last year and we both vowed to get into the profile scene a bit more because it's just "plane" fun (see what I did there?)! Then we started carrying TechOne and it seems the perfect source for a diverse selection of profiles from 3D to flying wing. I haven't purchased one yet, but I fully plan on it sometime this Spring or Summer when the flying season returns to the Pacific Northwest.

As for a non-profile, I have had my eyes on the Revolution since I first saw it. Looks like a sweet 3D plane.

Thanx for bringing this subject up because I really think a lot of pilots are missing out on some superb airframes by TechOne.
My very first plane that I got 5 years ago when getting back into the sport after a 40 hiatus was the TechOne P-40 3D(see attached).
This was obviously acquired before MRC had this line or I think was in business, but anyways the P-40, F4U and P-51 were/still distributed by Nitro and HK has picked up the P-51 but it is very difficult to even acquire these given the stock status at either place. All three are the 1000mm size airframes with the same power components as the SU-31 II that Motion carries. http://www.motionrc.com/techone-su-3...specifications
The 1100mm sized Yak 54 and Sbach 342 have the same power arrangement as the 1000mm but because of it's larger size is going to cause it to be a bit "floatier" and not allow it to do the more aggressive 3D maneuvers in my personal opinion.
I would like to see Motion carry these warbirds as part of the TechOne line up. Four other members at the club have bought one of these warbirds because of watching some of the crazy stuff I do with mine. I actually like putting mine up in 20-30 mph winds which in turn just tweaks the ol' skill set even finer! Have literally busted the motor off several times due to overaggressive(stupid) moves close to the tarmac, reglued and it still keeps going. The T-Motor is a really good motor whereas I concur with Matts observation of better quality and the bearings in mine are still going strong even after some of the post holes I've dug during it's 300+ flights at last count. That's my thoughts on TechOne!!

Thank you for the endorsement. TechOne models do fly really well and they are great value for money. They are relatively cheap enough to fly and practice something you wouldn't want to risk with a more expensive model. 300 plus flights is good going, I wonder how much that works out to be per flight.!

I got it for 99 beans plus another 60 for four 2200 3S batts so my ballpark math says about 50 cents per sortie and decreasing :D

Hello Denny, Yes, these should be arriving in one month. Due to the ordering special issues at this point, we order each month. With Techone it's as the stock requires as we move forward to see how many people want them. They are starting to really grow, we are pleased to get more of these models out to the public. They are a lot of fun to fly & hold up super to crashes. These are airplanes, I can fly around my house, not have to worry about bumping a tree...Just plane fun! Cheers

Actually our container is due to us in 2 months from them. So it is going to be a bit before we get them back in BUT we will have them again. It was our second order and its hard to predict what planes sell the fastest . Sorry for this inconvenience but we will have more in that's for sure!

I've never flown one and am sure they are a lot of fun, however, being a completely disgusting scale snob, I find them too toyish for my taste. Not that there's anything wrong with flying just for the sake of flying. I'm sure I'll be sorry for posting this. Doc

I'm leaning toward what Doc says as well. I'm sure they are fine planes, but I have no indoor places to fly and have enough trainers and really am not into the 3D thing, so I was left uninspired by the line. Again, that's just me and I'm sure they are of a high quality because Motion just wouldn't be carrying them if they were not. If they are your thing, then go for it. That's the beauty of the hobby you can do your thing within the hobby itself For me, its the scale warbirds and the relationship I have had with them throughout my life through books and airshows etc.

My query was specifically pointed towards the lighted version of the Tech One Air Titan. That model is a 1600mm w/s plane & I don't believe it would be quite a "backyard" model. As far as the Tech One models, I have the original Neptune wing that I got when they were first introduced to the public. It was my introduction to EDF's that has a superb flight envelope & made a superb "EDF weaning" model. I don't have any "profile" planes because I don't particularly like them, nor do I engage in 3D flight. I am a scale flyer & my hangar is finally getting to the >1200mm w/s models since I've passed on all the smaller ones. I am a "mood" flyer, so my choice of genre depends on the day's inclination to fly my gliders, or the warbirds, or the scale trainers, or the "need for speed" with my EDF's. I like being able to have a variety of choices. The interest in the lighted version of the Air Titan I wanted for our club night flights that will start in April. I don't see anyone else carrying the Air Titan, so if MRC doesn't have them, I'll get the FMS Firefly. I'm trying to do some business w/MRC, although if they are not available, I'll go elsewhere. I am interested in perhaps buying on of these Techone planes. My primary interest would be for something different to fly during our monthly micro modelers club at work. We fly inside, but it needs to be able to fly slowly. Right now I am flying the Horizon UMX Spacewalker, Vapor, Ember, SportCub, and PT-17. I have been tempted with the AS3xtra, but it really seems so fragile. The Techone I like is the Venus PNP with 32" wingspan.

If one of the MRC crew or someone in the community has experience with these, and can offer some advice, I would appreciate it!

I have one the old P-51 Techone profile planes, but I have to admit, I am not too fond of it. It flies OK, but the wings flap up and down like a bird if I start trying to do too much. I am hoping these smaller ones have less flex in the wings.

Motion RC has a delivery of TechOne models on order including the Air Titan, both with and without lights. However the order is not due for another 7 or 8 weeks.

If anyone is looking for a really slow flying indoor model have a look at the following link. No, it isn't a scale model but it does fly slow enough to practice your flying skills and perhaps try new aerobatics, or something you have never tried before.

All of the TechOne models have been designed as fun to fly models. I agree 100% they are not true scale and they never really will be. But they are "Profile Scale", and most of the range can be flown outdoors.

I agree they are perhaps not for everyone, but they do add another dimension to the Motion RC range of models.

TechOne Mini Neptune Green 588mm (23") Wingspan - PNP

So I got this little flying Tec-one flying wing a little while ago and thought I would do a little run down on this (SPARK SOME INTEREST). Putting this wing together is very simple glue on the a cover that covers the leads and esc and the fins. Add the prop and add your own receiver 4 channel. I used the admiral 450 with jst connector. That fits in the plane very snug so I do not believe any bigger battery will fit. The Neptune will give you about 15+ minutes of flying if you do throttle management.
This flying wing is actually not a bad flyer at all, if your into flying wings that is. To me it flies identical to the old horizon "STRYKER" just smaller. It can be flown in smaller baseball diamonds but be prepared this plane can be very fast it will gobble up ground quickly. The power is better than 1 to 1 full throttle straight up endless vertical. I have to stop it it gets small fast out of sight. It flies inverted with no bad tendencies and flying knife edge is a breeze LoL not on this wing. Stalls are are predictable and the wing will get you out of trouble on its own. When at full throttle hearing the prop scream past you, sounds so cool makes the back of your hair stand at attention and your mouth to say wah hoooo!! This is a small 23" wing and yes it has tremendous power I would not fly this in winds greater than 6-7 mph. The wind would start to affect this pretty bad taking it were it wanted to or flipping this over.

So in short if you are looking for a smaller flying wing this is a must have!!!
