Very cool thread Aros.motionrc! this is what it's all about, great people doing fun things together as a group. Nothing is more fun than hanging out with people sharing the same interests. There is so much to be learned by others with a common goal, also add so much to your life's experience. Always, neat to see people gather around the Warbirds, remembering those who served this great country! Matt

A dedication to the Blue Angels, and the loss of #6, Captain Jeff Kuss. Gone, but never forgotten.

For me, the sudden onset of two accidents in the same day, serves as a reminder that every time I visit these shows I give the pilots a full show of respect and honor for the risk and sacrifices they make to their bodies, their families, and to the aviation community.

      Thanks Captain Jeff Kuss!

I was/am in total shock that both teams had accidents on the same day. How strange is that!
Our hearts go out to the families...
Lets not forget also that tomorrow is June the 6th.
72 years ago our boys stormed the beaches at Normandy, many making the ultimate sacrifice so we could have the life we have and not under some Nazi boot.
God bless the men who protect and protected us.

We lost another hero. Capt. Robert "Punchy" Powell passed away yesterday, he was 95. Punchy was the pilot of the West "By Gawd" Virginian, part of the 352nd FG. I modeled my FMS P-51B after his plane and was honored to have met him. Like most of his kind, Punchy was very humble and did not consider himself a hero. I hope we never forget how lucky we all are that Americans like him were ready and willing to do what was required of them to keep this country safe and free.

I was feeling a down this morning because I could not fly. I am a 33 year navy vet and have some significant hand and nerve damage from injuries. After reading these post and watching the video, I realized that I am not bad after all. These posts help me deal with the ulnar nerve pain and discomfort. Every time I build and fly a model, I think about what the WWII vets must have faced during battle. I give great care to each model I build out of respect for those that flew them. A friend is in Normandy, France now and she sent some wonderful pictures of the beaches and Pointe du hoc. Before I leave this world, I am going to make this trip. Thanks guys for all the threads and posts. They help make my day! Happy flying to all!

Wow, that's awesome Phoenix, could you possibly share those pictures??
Being someone who is very interested in the history of WWII, and having an uncle who went in on D Day plus 2, across the very beaches and had to clear out the sub pens nearby, I'd love to see them, I'm sure there's a bunch of us that would as well.
I've said that before too, if I ever went to Europe, the only thing I'd want to see are some of the Old RAF bases in England and the OverLord beaches.
