    Designing for grass runways

Just read the FliteLine SPITFIRE description, and was really pleased that their design included trying to make it more suitable for grass runways. KUDOS to MRC and FliteLine!! Lots of us don't have access to a paved surface to fly our planes from, and I hope this will start a new trend to make new designs more grass friendly.

Well when these planes are designed and tested in the U.S. by Hobbyists who fly from grass and asphalt we try to make every effort to accommodate all and offer options on tire sizes if applicable to help out.

I try to stay away from planes that won't fly off grass. I've got too many of those already that must be hauled to a field further away. If I can't find a few good videos of a plane I'm interested in flying off grass, it gets axed off the list.
