Just got back from the field with my large Eflite CZ T-28. The guys there were stunned when I pulled that thing out of my little car and a different bunch of guys was wondering how I was going to get it back in. There were 2 other "little" T-28s there - the original Parkzone and the newer Eflite mid-sized one. After everyone saw them all fly, the conclusion was, "bigger is better".

Bigger is better, was my slogan for years, and 90-100+"ws with gas twins such as the 3W100 was my favorite size. After being out of the hobby for 3+ years because of cataracts, I didn't know if I would enjoy the "new" foamy electrics, or not. I'm happy to say that I am having a ball with the PNP electrics. The DYNAM PITTS is about as small as I want to go, but it is one of my favorites.

I was one of the guys that used to say, "I like the smaller planes best". Which is true, I still do, for specific circumstances. I used to never want to drive to the "big field(s)" in my area to fly. So, I bought and few planes that I could hand launch and belly land easily in smaller spaces closer to home where I usually flew. They're perfect for that circumstance.

However, eventually circumstances changed to where I was flying at one of the larger fields once a week and after some convincing (online) I realized that with my new vehicle and a fold down rear seat I really could fit a larger model with the wing off in the space I had available. So I took the plunge. Since, I have purchased three 1400mm+ single engine models and am looking for another. I was also pretty fed up with how my small models handled grass fields with gear on/deployed (horribly). I wanted something that I could practice touch and gos, etc. with and not worry about a nose over 75% of the time.

My small planes collect dust now and I'm actually giving a few away to free up space. I am keeping my favorites to be able to throw in the back of the car and fly whenever, but I don't see myself going back to smaller planes en mass.

I really wish the OEMs would get the picture and make wings more easily removable and detachable however. Fine pitch screws aren't the quickest or easiest attachment method and not everyone seems to have standardized on using quick connectors for wings either (a la FMS P-51D, etc.).

Yes, I agree, the 1400mm are one good wing attachment away from being perfect for me as well. Hopefully the folks at Flightline will take a good look at this problem and bring out a few 1400mms with an easy connect system, man that would be awesome. Many's the time I wished there was a way to remove the Pitts wings , but they're permanent. She takes up the majority of the back end of the Pick up.
