Hello. I have a 20 year old plane with a broken motor mount. I'm wondering if anyone out there in RC land might have access to a Hayes 60-L motor mount or have any idea where a guy might find one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Papazig

Hi Papazig
Wow that is going to be hard to find when it comes to old aircrafts or discontinued planes getting parts is very hard to find. You could check ebay, amazon or rcgroups as well. If your like me you might be able to re build this with aircraft hardwood 2 1/8 inch thick and make something work. Other than that not sure of anyplace else to try.

Hey Papazig, welcome to the forum!
the only other thing I can think of off hand is if you have the pieces of the original, I wonder if a 3d printer might work?
Just a thought

Don't know what exactly you are looking for but I just Googled Hayes 60-L motor mount and found a bunch of listings for Hayes. You just might browse that way and see if any would work. I have a Hayes A-S 60 in my shop and I saw some of those while I was looking.........something's gonna work.Comment

A motor mount is a motor mount is a motor mount.. they still make the circular backed ones. Do you need the nose gear holder built into it?Comment

Gentlemen, I found a Hayes round motor mount with a hole pattern that matched to old one. The rails were a little narrow but I was able to mill them off just enough for my O.S 61 Gold Head to fit into the mount. Bottom line, the old bird is back in the air and flying as great as ever. Thanks for the suggestions.Comment
