My granddaughter Brooke hanging out at the field!

I share the hobby with my 13 year old son. He is flying the Pandora in the low wing tail dragger configuration. Its a blast chasing him around up there!

Hey guys, I'm lucky enough to share my hobby with my wife! She has her Apprentice and has a gas with it!
So great as we are far from our family and there are just a few of the folks who show up at the field on a regular basis.

Not to blow smoke up, well, you know what I mean, but you don't look old enough to be a grampa! ;)

My two youngest sons, 32 and 34, fly with me... It's been good for us as a family I think!

I meet this hot playboy model who's in to aviation on the weekends..... (Then I woke up), Just the guys at the field.

However what is nice to see is we have all ages like most clubs.. 10 to 70 or more. Tattoos, piercings, WWII vets, etc. and everyone gets along very well... generations mix, talk and learn from each other with no visual bias that seems to exist outside the gates once we leave this magical place beind known as our field. To hear some of the older vets talks.. they're like walking encyclopedia's.. or is that Wikipedia's.

One was saying (short version) how they had replaced props on PT19's and were running them up one at a time for verification. Once prop came off... and when spinning down the runway... he said guys were running and diving all over the place. The story he told and visualization... it was like you were reliving it.

One day this very attractive single mom shows up with her son.. probably 12 with a trainer foamy... I've never seen a group older men move so fast :)

I fly with my nephew of 14 and sometimes my 3 girls come out to the field 8,9 and 10 mostly to run around but none the less fun times while they are their. Flew sunday with my nephew my hanger 9 1./4 scale and his carol goldberg anniversary cub and my Flightlinerc P-38 and his blitz works P-38 in formation was fun. Have to say that blitzworks P-38 flies good but a real pile of junk over all treat this like a egg carton. Think goodness Flightlinerc did their do diligent on this P-38 very nice looking and flying beefy to.

None of my kids or wife have any interest in anything aviation. I've met some really good people at the local flying club so I share with them. :)

Hanging around with you guys really helps to make up for the solo days. In a way, its good whether someone is there or not. Its nice to share, but its also nice to have the whole sky to yourself. I took a week off work last year and flew every day whether at the local field or the one 50 miles away. Never saw anyone else (during the week days though) but had a blast anyway!!

I've been trying to get my son to fly with me, he's 11. I think he has more fun playing baseball and riding bikes around the neighborhood so when I ask if he wants to come to the field with me he politely declines. I'm hoping that changes though, it would be a great way to bond.

I'll make you feel better Dan.... Give him time. My kids didn't care when they got that age too (baseball, hockey, and basketball) and then when girls came, well, let's just say that attraction is far more powerful than hanging at a flying field with older people. LOL! However, once they got in their 20's and now 30's they are hooked and kind of like getting away from their GF's for a couple of hours. Hahaha!

Thanks Flygirl. Sometimes he is more interested than others. I think it's a matter of timing and when I do finally get him on the sticks...I think he'll realize how much fun it is. As a 37 year old married guy...I can relate to wanting to get out of the house for a few hours :)

As many as I can!!! We fly at a public park so we get lots of people coming by to talk to us about the hobby. And I am organizing an airshow for the public to come see us perform in July... take a look...

This past Saturday about 8 members of our club shared our hobby with about 300 inmates at a medium security prison by putting on a demo. It was really cool and they were so appreciative. First time I have ever set foot inside a prison compound. It was somewhat surreal.

Kudos Steve on sharing with them. It's a little unnerving to hear that gate lock behind you even if you know your free to go back out.

You got that right. Bringing a plane in to land over two razor wire topped chain link fences was quite a visual too. Still we had a good time and they enjoyed it.

I fly on a weekly basis with my Dad. He's been a modeler since the 50's. A combination of me and the Carbon Z Cub have him flyin foamies now! Here we are flying our Radians together. Ron
