  • Help! Bad ESC?

This is my second Dynam PBY, the first one was great...this one is driving me crazy, I have reset the ESCS back to default twice and they are still crazy erratic. Below is a video of how they are acting and the weird static sound they're making.

Can't tell from the video - is it just one that's doing that or both? Have you tried fiddling (resetting, throttle calibration) with one at a time and seeing what it does, then the other? A flying buddy flew his the other day and it worked pretty good - a little low on power to skid off the grass nicely but it does fly OK.

Yes, I reset both ESCs and reset throttle individually still did it..I'll just wait until MRC gets ESCs in.

That's odd that both would do it. If you're going to get new ESCs, might I suggest you get higher amp ones so that if you ever decide to put in slightly higher kv motors, you're ready to go. Dynam uses 40A ESCs in some of their twin EDFs. I put a couple of these into a twin engined Canadair water bomber and fly it on 4s. Man, what a difference that makes. It skids off the grass in a few feet and flies with authority. Unfortunately, both ESCs are out of stock at the moment.

I think that might be the best route.
