  • Wing Thing Video

My friend Shane and I each have 37" Assassin wings by Crash Test Hobbies. They are pretty good flying wings and virtually indestructable (amazingly so) but they do have a bit of instability around the yaw axis so Shane decided to try to make some winglets out of corrugated plastic which we mounted on my Assassin. Looks like you trade some speed for stability but I personally liked the trade off. It flies great with them!

I'm assuming the foam winglets on the techone pop wing do the same thing help with the stability. They are mounted out on the end of the wing.

Exactly FF! With the Assassin you have the option to put a set out on the end of the wing. My friend Shane who has more than a few wings, some original designs he's done, thought that if we put them half way out on the wing then it would fly more like my RV Jet (see my avatar) which is really stable and more to my liking to fly. Worked pretty good!

Did you try yours yet? Make a vid when you do! I'd like to see it. One of the reasons I posted this was to get you excited to fly yours :)

Not this weekend drove 4 1/2hours to Dallas to visit my son and grandkids. Will get it done soon surely I'll catch a calm evening this week we are not supposed to have any storms the next few days so got my fingers crossed.
