  • Shout Out For Horizon Hobbies - Thumbs Up

I know some long time posters have issues with HH, like the use of tape as an adhesive. Well, I too just had a real issue with a product Horizon Hobby markets. I just got back from my local hobby shop (LHS)with an E-Flite "Shoestring 15E" in tow. Well, I just starting fitting the parts and yep you guessed it there was a problem, a major problem! The wings were out of alignment (these are two piece wing joined with a 15mm aluminum tube). The wings are keyed to the fuselage for their respective angles. For some manufacturing reason (unknown to me) the alignment block on one side of the fuse had shifted.

As the LHS is 70 miles away (with the traffic around here that's a week round trip)! I decided to call Horizon Hobbies for a warranty adjustment. Got them on the phone (less than 5 minutes and using their call back function). Told him what the issue was and had a replacement fuselage on its way (well on Tuesday it will be). No hassles asking this that or the other thing! No photos or videos nothing just my description and my word that it was a warranty issue.
Horizon Hobbies, that is fantastic customer support

Yep, they do have very good service. I also had a similar experience recently. One of my new Eflite 60-120 rotating retracts was malfunctioning and they sent me a new set after a few minutes on the phone!

I feared that as this was the fourth of July they might think I had smashed my racer in a heated racing heat and was trying to get a "free" fuse. Unlike some management they didn't try to read into my mind for hidden motives. This is something others could learn from. Great job Horizon Hobbies!

I installed those on the Hangar 9 Hellcat. They worked great! Then I killed my Hellcat
