proper cg for the Fight Line Sea Fury?

I am trying to find a verified cg for the Sea Fury by Flite Line. Some posts have stated that the factory setting of 80mm is not to be trusted, but I see no recommendations. Any info would be helpful...I will probably start at around 74mm or so. Your thoughts?

I stuck a adimeral 5000mah up front and it flies like it is on rails. With this pack and or the 4000 the cg is perfect. If you try to use anything less than a 4000 you will need to ad serious lead to the front end. I know I had to do it when I was using 3000's on my first go around.

I concur with AkumaZeto. The 80mm CG mark is the place to be. Mine is flying with a 4000mAh Admiral all the way forward and 2.5 ounces of lead up in the cowl under the motor. Neutral elevator gives level flight and just a smidgeon of down elevator to hold her level on inverted flight. I am one of the first to own this airframe and did a complete build and flight review over on this thread.

I too like the Sea Fury. Mine at the cg was wwwaaayyy tail heavy. Took a bunch of lead to balance. Bad flight resulted in fuselage breaking in 2 pcs. missing hatch, broken blades and spinner. Pilot Error, I think NOT.
Reassembled the aircraft level and wing at zero incidence, the motor had right thrust ok but, 2 degrees of UP thrust.

Turns out the bottom of the metal motor mount has a washer providing up thrust.

My local hobby shop replaced the airplane. Way to go Scale Reproductions !!!!
