GPS/Locater for Lost RC Aircraft

Do any of you have insight on a decent GPS/Finder you can attach to RC aircraft in the event you lose it in woods?

Ideally, something that gives off a continuous beep or audible signal every few seconds so if you are in the vicinity you can hear and locate it.

If you use a RID, there are cell phone apps that show the location.

Would an Apple Air Tag work in this sort of application? It's self powered, can be moved from plane to plane and you can make it "sound off" when you are close to the area where the plane went down.
