Using Water Based Polycrylic to Increase Durability of Foam Models.
Avoiding Clear plastic like Running Lights and Clear Canopy Covers.
Be Precise around Servos as to not get any on them causing them to seize up.
Do not apply to Bending points like Flap grooves. Instead use Flap Tape which is designed to flex inside joints.
Warer Based Poly is mostly Water. Roughly 60% water. When it dries it loses most of its weight.
800mm Draco gained a little over 3 grams when it dried. So models wont notice the coats.
Have used on 400mm Micros and it works great.
Apply a few extra coats on the bottom of belly landers to protect bottom foam from scratches.
Poly also locks in your paints and decals.
This is part of the methods we use at SavageJonesRC to help increase durability of our models and also just gives the models a beautiful look and premium feel instead of just Foam.
