I went to Home Depot to have a couple of sample paints made for my Spitfire. I took the battery hatch cover because it is small and it had both colors on it. As he was making up the paint I went looking for another item in the store. I came back and noticed he had basically ruined the hatch cover by applying a dab of paint on it and using the heat gun to dry it. I know most of you know what happened. I have never had anybody apply the paint to the sample. They always apply it to the lid of the jar. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper.

Yeah, they have tried to do the same a couple of my parts. I always let them know not to use the heat gun beforehand now. They have also shattered an aerial mast on my Spitfire into 3 pieces and them stepped on them trying to pick up the pieces. You can't take your eye off them for a second. If there is any doubt about whether you should say something to them, always better to let them know or give them a warning. And applying paint to the small is common, and it is the best way for them to ensure that it is a correct match. Just direct them to apply it to a place the won't be notice and let them know not to use the heat gun. Sorry to see the part ruined though, at least it was a cheap part though. Can't imagine if they had done the on a wing or fuselage!

I hold my parts while they scan them...had one guy at Lowes say you can't come behind the counter, I told I could at HomeDepot.

I had the same problem at Lowes, and the paint they mixed was not correct. I did get it corrected however it took a while. Have not used Home Depot

Ace has been great for all my paint needs, for the Spitfire, I just mixed my own, using some of the existing paint I have and using some old parts from the first Spitfire to color match. You also have to watch them as they like to push the probe a little hard on some surfaces, depends on who's doing it I guess.

There you go, my first E flite Spitty lawn darted, through no fault of its own, a lead from the battery to the connector came apart, go figure, so I have a bunch of spares.
Bought a second and absolutely love the plane!
I'd like to upgrade the ESC and try 4 s in her, a bit more weight wouldn't hurt.
Things to look forward to.
