  • Good ending battery voltage?

What is a good battery voltage to shoot for after the flight? With my new plane the battery came out at 11.4 volts (3 cell) after 4 minutes flying. What should be the bottom limit of voltage after a flight?

I try not to go below 3.7 per cell.

Ok, so at 11.4 I had a bit left. Good to know,. Thanks!

Agreed! However, I've drained mine down on some rare occasions down to 3.2v/cell and they came back and worked fine for many, many cycles. I try not to do that, but sometimes it just happens. More importantly than just looking at the total voltage is to see each cell and how they vary. Also, most meters will tell you %left. That information can also be useful. Having said all this, I believe that at times, we listen to more "old wives" than we ought to.

I have pretty well learned to fly my batteries down to storage voltage, usually about 5 minutes, unless I'm doing aerobatics. Then about 3-1/2 to 4 minutes. I don't like using my chargers to put them into storage. Doc
