  • Anything Smaller Coming Anytime Soon?

From Flightline, specifically. At the risk of getting run out of town with torches and pitchforks, I'm curious if the direction FL is headed is towards the larger models exclusively? I realize there are a lot of guys that want bigger and bigger planes, and I'm probably in the minority wanting something smaller. I admire Motion, Flightline, and even FMS for listening to the guys that want big planes, and building them. By all accounts, the bigger planes are very popular, and selling well. I rode the wave, and purchased the 1600mm P-38. It's a fantastic plane, and I have no regrets. That said, it's not getting much flight time, as I have to swap cars with my wife for the day, and drive a good distance to a "real" field to fly.

I have a local field that is half a mile away. I throw a couple of 800's and either my 980mm P-40 or 1030mm Staggerwing in my car, and fly a couple times a week, at least. The 800's are fun, but I really love the detail, features, and stability of the 980 and 1030. They are also a lot more economical, and I don't have to buy very expensive batteries.

I would love to see more warbirds in the 1000-1100mm range, that can fly on the cheap and plentiful 2200 3S batteries. I really don't want to turn this thread into a debate about "bigger is better". I get that most folks love and want more of the 1600-2000mm planes. Unfortunately for me, I can't afford them, don't have room to store them, and have a hard time transporting them. Is there any chance that Flightline is looking at turning out some smaller planes as well???

    Thanks!
I hate that motorcycle they make me ride. I'm here to tell you, there ain't nothing in the world I hate more than that elephant under my ass.
