  • Admiral battery deans connectors

I just purchased a new battery charger from Motion that can charge 4 batteries at a time and it came with 4 Deans charger leads. The charger lead Deans connectors will not fit in the Admiral batteries that I purchased from Motion. I have 3s and 4s batteries and can not plug in the new charging leads. All the other brand of batteries that I have do not have this problem only the Admiral batteries. Are the Deans connectors just a bit smaller on the Admiral batteries?

    Re: Admiral battery deans connectors

There are some very slight variations in T-Connector size from manufacturer to manufacturer. Our Admiral batteries use a connector from the largest and most reputable connector company in China, and we've had very good luck with universal fit. T-connectors themselves can very tight and I have had issues like you are describing when using chargers and some airplane ESCs. My best advice is to try inserting the T-connector at a slight angle. The metal prong can get hung up on the plastic insulator when trying to insert "head on", so if you angle the connector slightly it should allow you to mate the two pairs. Hope this helps.

Coat the male ends of the Deans connector with a small amount of vaseline this will make it easier to connect.

        Re: Admiral battery deans connectors

        Greetings,

I have experienced Dean's connectors that can be difficult to connect, especially when I make my own from raw connectors purchased in bulk.

I have found that by taking a pair of needle-nose pliers, you can squeeze on the curved or resistance portion of the connector and it will allow the connectors to mate more easily. Don't flatten them completely though as you want some resistance to keem them bound.

Just be careful on the battery leads not to touch both simultaneously.

        Hope this helps.
