  • New Year Resolution - Learn 3D

Well I have made a commitment this year to learn 3D. To help me with my goal I bought this plane. TechOne Yak 55 3D 800mm (31") Wingspan - ARF BUNDLE

I have found my simulator has been very helpful in learning some of the moves.

Anyone have any tips or advice?

    Hi

That is a great plane to learn 3D with I think. The sim does help to learn 3D but you will find doing this in the field a bit tougher. But do not get discouraged practice practice is the goal and a hot glue gun attached to your hip. Good luck!

I have a 47 inch Swift also and I do find it is harder when at the field. I think a much smaller plane will be better as our field is not that big. Plus a smaller plane will work better at our school as well. I am determined as I have been wanting to do this for a couple of years now.

I have the TechOne Yak 55 3D 800mm and it flies very well. Personally I don't fly 3D, but I have tried it with this model just as an interest point and it will hold a hover without to much trouble. I would say it would be a good model for 3D practice and learning.

I've dabbled in 3D over the years but haven't put nearly as much stick time into it as warbirds/jets...I keep looking at these TechOne offerings and just need to pull the trigger. These could be a lot of fun with their low wing load and good power...As Brad says, bring a glue gun and patience! It can be a lot of fun!
