  • Wright brothers flier

I'm building a non-flying model of the Wright brothers plane and was wondering if there is an RC version out there. I'd want something closer to RTF but wouldn't mind one where some assembly is needed. Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated.

I think Great Planes offers a rc kit for the Wright Brothers Flyer.

Brodak has a kit for the Wright 1909 military flier. It does fly. I got one and am building it, but mine is for static display only. Actually, I started last winter but then flying got in the way, so I have just started working on it again. It is a Pat Trittle design, so it is very lightweight. It is definitely not an ARF. It is a laser cut kit. It goes together fairly easily. The instructions aren't the best but with the plans, I was able to puzzle it out fairly well. This is my first kit build.

It is available at: http://brodak.com/dare-1909-wright-military-flyer.html I have heard that they fly well.

If you might find it useful, the build thread is at: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...-Tritle-design
