    hello!i saw the "Little Blue Box"is a big trouble。im a beginner.i really love this plane,ill buy it.but,could u please explain about the blue box?what does it use for?and could i refuse to use it?thank you!!!!!!

    Hello, The blue box is just a way to connect the ailerons, elevator & rudder and, so forth. Yes, you can bypass it, with Y-harnesses. But, why do that? The blue box is not the problem. It's most likely a newer pilot not understanding the part, then connecting the wires polarity incorrectly. We have had Two, that not very many boards that had an issue. Most likely shorted due to improper usage. A lot of this industry post persons, don't or are unable to explain the entire issue. Then, it leaves room for questions. The blue box, or control box. Is just another method to connect servos, landing gear and so forth. Not something that is prone to problems or failure. I have three that work very well. Matt

      The most likely problem would be the wires stripped back too far, and soldered to the board at the ends; this can cause the wires to cross, causing various control problems. It looks like the plastic box is translucent, so this would be easy to inspect, unlike a similar device used in the FMS P-51. My P-51 crashed once, and had loss of control after repair, because of wires attached this way.

        Hi No1inthecp, welcome to Hobbysquawk!! Let me give you the scoop. In the Ta-152 and the Bearcat, the blue box is three Y connectors in one. It allows you to plug all of your wing connections in, then connect to your receiver. If the box is used though, you must use all three functions. The box gets it's power from the landing gear port, and distributes it from there to the rest of the servos in the wing. There is next to no chance that it can cause any sort of malfunction in the airplane. Some people do not trust them though, and prefer the Y connector route, and plug everything directly into their receiver, This is fine as well, the airplane does not care either way. BTW, the Ta-152 is one fast and fun little plane, just watch it on takeoff, it has a lot of torque!!!

            Having used the control boxes on three different planes (FLRC P-38, FLRC Ta-152, Freewing Mosquito), I find the control box to be most useful (required, actually) when you need more channels than your Rx or Tx have. For example, if you have a 6-channel system, but are flying an aircraft that has retracts and flaps, AND gear doors with their own servo(s), and/or landing lights, the control box can do the sequencing that's associated with gear deployment/retraction, without requiring additional channels. In the case of the Ta-152, there's none of that. So, the Blue Box isn't required. But, it doesn't hurt anything to use, or not. I think that I chose to use it, if for no particular reason other than I could.
