    Timber Reborn

After the nose fell off my Timber I decided to fix it up and keep flying. Everything was great until 2 weeks ago when I took it to my flying field in my son's older Jeep Cherokee. He forgot to inform me that the gas struts that hold up the rear hatch were weak, so of course as I was getting it ready to fly using the rear cargo area a small gust of wind brought the hatch down like a guillotine the second I turned my back. Once again I found my timber in two pieces and this time the damage was fatal. I ordered a new fuselage and when I took it from the box I saw a nice blank canvas - I was never enthralled with the boring decorations and expanse of white styrofoam anyway. After a weekend with some latex paint, my cheapo Harbor Freight air brush, a little electrical tape, and some decals from the Flight Line P-38 I'm ready to get it back into the air.

Looks much better to my eye than the original. Nice way to repurpose decals for a fantasy scheme that still feels like a fit in the "real" world!

                  When's the remaiden? This weekend?

Very cool! Nice work there. Gives me ideas to repaint mine. Agreed, the stock livery is ho-hum... :Straight-Face:
