That is a great warbird indeed. I hope you are ready to tame that Mustang <smiley image="smiley_wink.gif"/> I have been flying for 3 years and am not ready for that horse just yet. I have other warbirds like the SBD dauntless, Zero,Stuka and Wildcat and I can fly them decently. Maybe after I get a fast warbird like the FMS 1400 FW 190 or Bf 109 and can fly those well then I will try to ride that Mustang.
@ Baron ; LOL ... !!!! Of course I'm not ready , I'm still in the flying academy . Funny you mention the ME-109.
That's my favorite one . But with a reverse approach from you. First work my way to the P-51 and then get my masters program with the ME-109 !
Have you viewed the video by MotionRC's Ryan and Capt Mike of that FMS 1400 Bf 109 ? It is really a very realistic warbird and Ryan does a great job of handling that 109' s take offs and landings. You are probably right about getting the Mustang first as it probably is easier for take offs and landings than the 109. But I have to get that BF 109 as it is on my "bucket" list. Decades ago I saw a large scale RC 109G 6 , painted like great ace Adolf Galland's paint scheme. That RC pilot told me that Galland actually saw him fly that warbird and Galland was impressed with its realism. I knew that one day I had to learn to fly a RC 109.
Yes I have !!!! Pilot Ryan & Capt Mike ,have a great presentation of the ME-109 . They are very honest, extremely honest with any sort of description of the ME-109 and flight characteristics . Both of them make a great team together .
Ryan truly shows the ME-109 flight behavior , and right away is clear that is very far for the beginner . But at the same time, they make you understand that without intimidating you !!!, and thats their magic ( Ryan and Mike) they are very clear with what you need to earn your wings. They really encourage you to get there with the right steps, No BS for sure ! ????? to Pilot Ryan and Capt Mike !!! Yes , the ME-109 is fantastic and VERY seductive !!!
And thanks for sharing the anecdote of Adolf Galland !
after all this writing I have to repeat..... I'M SO STOKED with my new P-51D V8 ( Blue nose Petie 2nd ) !!!
