  • Big is back - What is Horizon up to?

That's certainly the Cessna profile. If they came out with a big Cessna 182 to compliment the UMX version I'd buy it! I'd love to see this sized like the Carbon Cub or their T-28!

Ya know, if it is a 182 I'm going to see if anyone in our club would repaint it to match my full scale plane. That would be sweet!

I guess we'll know on Thursday what they're planning to release.

Oh boy! Would you believe I submitted a product suggestion to them last year for a Carbon Z 182?! I also submitted a suggestion for a fleet of war birds the same size as the CZ T28! Hopefully they'll do that too. I'll buy all of em. Thanks for the post!

I have been bugging Alpha for 2 years to start doing some civilian planes like a decathlon ,citabria , Tripace , Champ and 182 all in 1700 size . I think no I know they will sell too!! Lets show people war birds are cool but so are these as well!

As much as I love my jets and warbirds, I would be interested in a 182 in that size. Re-make the canyon scene from Iron Eagle....Hahahaha

The Flex plane (which I own) is a Cessna 170, it has rounded tail feather and the main gear is a lot more forward. The silhouette has squared tail feathers and the main gear is further back indicating that it's a tricycle geared plane.

Cessna 170's never had the landing light in the nose, always in the left wing.

This was posted earlier today by someone who is in the know.
If anyone can guess what ALL of the following numbers related to the new release are you'll get to see it here first (as long as you guess correctly before the official announcement comes!):

Well I can guess a few. I was hoping 2125 was the wingspan, but it's probably 84".... 7 feet is nice. 6s power system, $400 price range. I WILL have 1.(just used a conversion calculator. 2125mm comes out to 83.66", so I guess that could be the wingspan like I thought.)

                    It's a Cessna 150 with an 84" wing.

i was really hoping for a 182, I think I'll be passing this one over since I already own the Flex 170.

I was really hoping that they might actually bother with a rudimentary interior this time, but I guess not. Those silver windows just ruin the look of the model for me.. I'm sure it will fly great, but not my kind of plane.

Because I'm a hardcore warbird fanatic my opinion probably has little impact here but this is a bigger :Yawn2: than the carbZ 28 was :Straight-Face:

The T28 flies fantastically tho, & at least it has a clear canopy instead of painted windows. For some reason I don't mind the painted windows on my CZ Cub, but it really looks bad on a cessna. Looks like it needs eyes painted on the windshield & a smiley face on the cowl & turn it into a cartoon character. I held off on Quique's Flex 170 because i didn't want another tail dragger. Now I'm really disappointed.

Yuck...The solid silver windows and the fact it's not a 182 or even 172 took me out of the game.

I definitely agree with Aros - those silver windows really take away from any hope of it being a truly scale model in my opinion, at least not without extensive modification. I would love to see a Cessna 172 at this size, but it would need some rudimentary interior for it to be worth it. At least if this model ends up doing well, it may show manufacturers that there is interest in more large scale GA models, with possibly some more scale models to come! Would love to hear what those who purchase this model think, it sure looks fun to fly.

Dkal- what's your overall opinion of the Flex 170? I've been looking at that on for a little while, but not completely sold yet because I have the Carbon Z Cub. But I REALLY like the appearance and flight envelope.

I do like this plane a 150 is unique I have a 1600 mm 182 and they have become to me a P-51 every one does it. But the silver windows how boring my 182 has a full interior and the pilot moves right and left with the rudder. It also has opening doors as well. Flies great. But of course Banana hobby discontinued this plane what idiots have something great and they kill it so typical right. I did training in a 150 I may have to get this and have cali graphics make me decals to give an interior look simple fix not perfect but better.
