    4S vs 3S = Faster?

I have a beginner question. Will most jets using a 4s lipo be faster than a 3s lipo with roughly the same kv motor

A motor designed for 3s will achieve higher rpm with a 4s, however, you risk burning up your motor. Doc

Just FYI, the motor, in theory, will try to turn 4/3 times faster, and the fan would need that amount (4/3) cubed (~2.4X) more power to turn that fast. In practice, because of a variety of factors, it will actually turn about 25% faster, and draw about 2X the power. IF you know the limits of the ESC and motor, and have a Watt meter, you can test it to see if/when the smoke will come out, but without testing, assume it will.

So is it safe to say the Freewing 4s F18 will be faster than the 3s ?
I have a 3s F18 jet and was looking for an F18 that would take off from very short grass better and be a little faster in the air so thought the 4s might do it.

Yes, the 4S setup should give it a nice performance boost over the 3S. More speed and more vertical for sure.
