Ten years ago this Month we lost Bob Kress, who was quite possibly the most important person responsible for the success of our hobby. Lucky for us that this Grumman Engineer also had a passion r/c aircraft. He was design Manager on the F-14, but designed some of the first successful ducted fans, including electrics. I got to meet him and his family at their KressJets booth at the Toledo Expo years ago. He had a large crowd around his booth, always, and he was answering questions about his truly revolutionary designs of electric propulsion, and aircraft kits.
