  • DX6i setup with FMS 800 Zero

    Hello...

Just purchased my first FMS RC aircraft. First flight this morning, and it's twitchy. Anyone have this plane using a DX6i? If so, what settings are any of you finding best. Would like to put in some expo to slow things down a bit. Any help would be appreciated. Scanned the forum, but could not find anything related to the Zero with the DX6i setup.

    Thanks...

I can't help on using that radio but there have been previous discussions on the difficulty of flying the 800 mm series of warbirds. Others have stated that the larger planes are easier to fly than the 800 mm series and if you can master those 800 mm planes then you can fly larger sizes without problems.

My radio is not handy, but I typically use +25% expo to smooth things out a bit. I have the exact same plane, make sure your CG is set correctly. I'm using the 2S 1000 mAh batteries and had to add 2 oz of weight in the motor wire channel in the nose. I also converted to an 8x6 APC prop.
Stick with it, this plane rocks, you'll get used to it.

Thanks for the responses.... Going to switch to the 8x6 APR prop. Yes, smaller generally harder to fly, added some expo to smooth things out.
