had a crash today stupid rookie mistake. A good pre-flight checklist could have prevented this mistake. Does anyone have a link to a good one I could really use it.
thanks Redman58
Redman58 ,first off welcome to the world of RC and the Squawk . What was the mistake so we can go from there ?
As far as check list start here
1.Check batteries in you radio make sure are strong , if low replace or charge .
2. Check the charge in your flight batteries . If you don't have battery tester get one .
3.Make sure all screws are tight and none are missing .
4.Damage parts? Can make for a bad flying experience
5.ALWAYS TURN ON THE RADIO FIRST!!!!!! NEVER PLUG FLIGHT BATTERY FIRST!!!!
6. Make sure all control surfaces are moving freely and correct .
7.Range check your radio .
8.Make sure the wind is not too much for your plane or your experience . Good rule
of thumb , not sure then don't.
9.Is flight area clear . People , debris ,etc.
10. If at a club what are the other Pilots doing . Flying in a pattern ? Coming in to land?
11. If possible get a Coach or Teacher to help you . The best thing you can do is learn from a experienced pilot .
12. Always remember the only stupid question is one that is not asked . Don't be afraid or bashful to ask . ALL PILOTS STARTED KNOWING NOTHING !!
Good luck and keep us informed and ask anything that comes to mind . I'm sure there are others who will to this list but it's a good start.
