  • Piaggio P180 Avanti with Twin Pusher Props

Rarely is my attention captivated by civil aircraft unless they are unique and cool. I had recently came across once such aircraft after seen a picture of the Piaggio P180 Avanti. It is a beautiful executive transport with twin turbo pusher props made by an Italian company with some help from Learjet in its development.
The only other aircraft of this type ever produced was the Beechcraft Starship. The Starship is also a beautiful executive transport that was ahead of its time. However it’s been said that it is kind of heavy on the controls and it seems like it would be a bit more complicated to transition to an RC model.
The Piaggio P180 Avanti on the other hand seems to be more maneuverable than the Starship and it is a bit more simple in its design to make a better transition to an RC model.
This aircraft could defiantly give a boost to the civil line up that MotionRC currently offers.

Here is a great video of a built Piaggio P180 Avanti. Take notice on how graceful and maneuverable it is. By the way I also found out that P180 is officially the fastest twin turbo prop in the world!

I have the SimProp version ARF, NIB, not for sale. I am going to get to it in the next few months. Took forever to find as it has been out of production for a few years. GORGEOUS. They are out there though, so if this is what your heart desires, keep looking. Jeff
