  • Easiest hand launch jets from MotionRC

We do not have a field with grass short enough for the small wheel EDF jets.
Anyone have advice on which EDF jets from MotionRC are easy hand launchers?
Advice from the guys from MotionRC is also appreciated.
    Thanks

Bill, if nothing suitable turns up, I have a couple I can recommend, but they're not from MRC.
I'll also highly recommend the Stinger90, if you have the skills to handle 105+mph right outta the box. It has plenty big enough (retractable) wheels for grass.

One more. If by 'we' you mean a club, ours is considering adding a length of that tarp type stuff that you pin out atop the grass -- just as smooth as paving & lots less expensive. (Or permanent!)
    Good luck!

      Thanks Starhopper,
I would appreciate your recommendations on the jets not from MotionRC also.
The tarp idea sounds good. What is the brand or type you plan to use? I would like to read about it.

One of the easiest EDFs to handlaunch to me is the Starmax F9F Panther. Also, the E-Flight UMX Habu is a very easy EDF to handlaunch, but it is on the smaller side. Fun to fly, but not as fast as some of the larger EDFs. The F9F was my first EDF and I still have it two years later. Nice flying jet, looks good in the air, easy to see, and a really good first EDF.

Undecided - the guy whose company does most of our field's building/construction has some rolled material (don't know its name), it's a woven black w/green sewn edging along one side, takes about 3-4 guys to handle a roll. The one I've suggested (also in consideration) is 'US 230 Aeromodeling Geotextile' <Link

            Here's another (rejuvenated) club's approach - 'Petromat':

AFA the hand-launch jet, relatively unknown but here's one of my fave 'fun planes':

(Shot with Sunglass cam I was also maidening - quality not so great but you can get the idea. <smiley image="smiley_cool.gif"/>
Kind've hard to know exactly where they're aimed. It's HD so click the Full Screen icon, makes things a li'l easier to see.)

PS: You WILL want to pull & balance the 5-blade fan, or upgrade it!!
