    Re: Product arrival ??

    Greetings Sky Wolf,

Man, that is excellent information and I appreciate your insight and experiences.

Seems to me that having the smoke capability on the C-188 would be undescribably cool!!

    Thanks

      Re: Product arrival ??

      Hi Chris,
The containers I mentioned above were for Freewing and Dynam, however, FMS containers also arrive every couple of weeks. If there is a specific part you are looking for, please enter your email address on the product page (where is says to be notified) and our system will automatically send you an email once the product arrives. FMS part delivery is pretty consistent, so we should not be out of stock for more than a few weeks.

Freewing arrives this week, Dynam Next week. Dock and rail congestion has slowed everything down by a few days. Thank you for your patience.

A Texas "Howdy" to ya Rocketeer!

The smoke canisters would absolutely be cool on the C-188. It's looks great in the video. Who knows?...someone may come up with something soon. It seems it would be extremely easy to do. The ones from BH are a simple set-up, but they are "huge".

              Greetings Sky Wolf,

              Back at Cha'! Buddy.....

Indeed, the addition of some kind of smoke canister/device is almost demanded by this bird.
I might have to try to reach out to Das Boys at Ready2Fly and see what it was they incorporated into their C-188.

First I might have to fire up the old Google Translate......

Hey guys-I was just looking at an update on HK for the new electric Ugly Stik, and noticed that they do have smoke cannisters available in several colors, green, blue, orange, red, and mixes of those. 5 cannisters for 20.00. Just type in "smoke" on the search bar when you get to the HK website and you'll see them. Hope this helps!

                    Greetings Loneflier,

That is sweet news!! many thanks!
Hopefully they'll be compatible with the pending C-188.

I have to admit, the Durafly das Ugly Stik is very clever in its design being electric with a faux nitro engine mounted up front complete with installed fuel lines. Of course, I had to order one the day they went on sale!
Well, actually, I thought they were so cool I ordered two.

Thanks again for the smoke canister tip.

Hey Rocketeer and CT-glad I could help. I hope those cannisters work well with your upcoming C-188s!

Rocketeer-Have you had a chance to fly the Das UglyStick yet? I was tempted to order one, but have been told by my wife that I have too many planes! I am kind of on hold until I get my new shop built.

Thanks again, and Clear Skies back to ya all!

                        Greetings Loneflier,

The Das Ugly Stiks hasn't arrived yet...... It is unfortunately HK so who really knows went it might arrive.
I'll attach a few un-boxing/Parts photos on the forum here when/if it shows.

I hope it flies like an Ugly Stik.......

Callie Graphics is owned by the daughter of a long time Heli / airplane pilot and former hobby store owner here in Albuquerque NM. She is a vinyl and graphic wizard. She can make almost any thing you need for planes and helicopters. Checked out her site www.callie-graphics.com

Just send her a pic or size/ mfg of plane you have and she can do it all. I have one of her "girls" on the side of my P51 D Red tail.

                            Greetings Loneflier,

Go Fugure, I arrive home from school tonight and there on the porch sat the Das Ugly Stik.
I ordered it last week and it's already here. The last time I ordered from HK it took almost 3 months for delivery.

Obviously, I couldn't wait to get a peak!!!

Well Packaged, and all the parts are clean and solid.

I Especially had to get a look at the faux nitro engine..... Holy mackeral IT IS AWESOME!!!!
If that doesn't scream NITRO!! Then I'll be darned..... Can't wait to see it with the wooden prop.
                            What do you think????

This plane seems to have received quality molding and the engineering also seems to be well thought out and at first glance dead on to the the classic Ugly Stik.
The jury is obviously still out on how it flys but, if it flys even near as good as it looks, HK's got a real winner here. And for under $200 I know what I'll be giving for Christmas this year.

It will REALLY be difficult for guys at the field to believe it's an electric foamie without a good close-up look.

                            More to come....

Wow! Very nice! If I didn't know better, I would swear that is a real nitro motor on there. It did indeed appear to be well packaged too. Might have to pull the trigger on one of those too, if I can sneak it past the wife! Ha! I will be very interested in your account of how she flies too.

My experiences with HK have been mostly good. Usually pretty fast shipping, and everything has always arrived in good shape. Where they fall down is in responding to customer questions. So far, I have not had to return anythign or file any damaged shipment reports to receive replacement parts. Hope I won't have to. Like all you guys, if at all possible, I either buy locally here, or use MRC unless only HK carries it, like the Durafly line.

                                WOAH!
I remember seeing these as a kid, even had a wrecked one that I tried to rebuild.
I'm honestly looking at this in total amazement! Thats a fake motor!! WOW, is it metal or plastic, has to be metal, right just hollowed out with a long prop shaft going through it.
Of course, I did the same with two P&W R 1830's years ago for a DC-3 on static display, but I never ran another motor behind them, what a concept!!
Bill, this is an absolutely wonderful kit, even unassembled and sitting in the box, I'd love to be there when you take it to the field, they'll all think they finally broke you of your nasty foamy electirc habit. If I were you, I'd get the sound system in it, crank in the Radial engine or the Merlin sound and fire that up right in front of them. Tell them you have a new, state of the art starter in it as well!!

                                  Greetings Loneflier, G56,

LOL!!! That would be a riot!!

I'm half tempted to do just that.
I think I'll wear my Go-pro hat the first time I bring it out and just not tell anyone I'm recording.
Kind of a Candid Camera thing.

The fake nitro motor is a combination of metal and plastic parts. It has some weight to it.
The battery installs around mid-point just below the main wing from the bottom so HK says that the weight of the fake motor plays a big roll in the CG.
I think if it flies as cool as it looks it'll be a hoot.

                                  More to come......
