  • Oscillation in the horizontal plane

I have a new Hobby Zone Super Cub S with the SAFE Technology. On my first flight the aircraft oscillates back and forth on the horizontal plane. Looks like the rudder electronics in trying to compensate for something, I plan to disconnect the SAFE Technology circuit and try to determine where the problem is. Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks
    Joe

I sold one of those for a friend some time ago. Looked into buying it myself but word was the SAFE system caused as many wrecks as it cured.
Anyway, sounds like you need to turn down the gain on the yaw channel - if that's possible with that rig.
Else, just disarm it & fly without. After we got it trimmed out, the one he had was a *****cat.

Sounds right to me. I have a Hobbyzone Super Cub and she behaves herself (usually). Its such a light plane that she might be catching a little side wind when she's off the ground. Wind currents can change fifty feet up. Try flying 90 degrees either way and see if she lifts her nose into the wind.
I thought that the Safe Technology only activates if you push the Safe button on the stock radio it comes with. I've bound mine with my DX6i according to the manual instructions and I have to pull up the Trainer switch in order to activate it.
      Hope this helps

        Hi Joe:
Got thinking, what setting have you got it on, there's beginner, intermediate and advanced, check your manual because I flew mine a couple of times with the beginner setting, then a couple of times with the intermediate and that was it. Straight on to the advanced because it handled so much better for me.
If you haven't tried it, I'd suggest that you do. If you still have problems, e mail the guys at MotionRC, its under the support tab, they are the best.
