Not many places sell alot of ready to fly. How come?

    Hello Amleagon,
Is your comment regarding RTF (ready to fly) directed at the number of retailers selling RTF or at the diversity of aircraft in the RTF configuration?
RTF is a very limited market structure that is oriented towards the entry level flyer. The airframes are fundamentally a trainer style. The radios(Tx and Rx) that are installed are basic units with little or no bells/whistles.
Since RTF is a rather small niche of the overall modeling marketplace, only a handful of retailers will carry them.
The diversity of aircraft available in RTF is a moot issue because once a beginner progresses in flying skills and interest in the sport the requirements of more elaborate control systems and airframes becomes the standard.

    Best regards,
    Warbird Charlie
