  • Flyzone calypso replacement parts

Hello! This is my first post here.
I have an old flyzone calypso, and unfortunately my latest flight ended with me going straight in from 20ft up. :( The motor and prop are toast. Since this plane is so old, finding replacements is quite the wild goose chase. I've found this motor which seems to be a good replacement for the 28-30 1100kv motor that broke: https://www.amazon.com/FlashHobby-Br...ct_top?ie=UTF8

What's really driving me crazy is finding a new propeller! The old one was a folding 9x5, here's the closest thing I've found https://www.amazon.com/Folding-Prope...07SD16KQJ&th=1. The problem is, the hub diameter is smaller so the front part of the plane will be larger than the hub and it'll look ugly. The old hub was 47mm in diameter, does anyone know where I could find a similar replacement?

Have you tried Horizon Hobby? They may still have a few limited parts available for your plane. Failing that, you might consider looking beyond Amazon. There's a whole world of RC out there. For example, try looking at places like Esprit .................... https://www.espritmodel.com/
They specialize in sailplanes and parts. You can look for spinners, folding props, hubs, yokes or all sizes that will work for your model. Then there's HobbyKing. They usually have very poor stock but it may surprise you what they might have at any given time. The other option is to find a used Calypso for sale in your local Kijiji or the like and salvage what parts you might need. Finally, have you looked at parts for other similar sailplanes that are available today to see if their parts are close enough to work for you. Eg, Radian.
If you don't have any luck finding exactly what you want, "ugly" might be of secondary importance as functionality should trump looks.

I realize your original post is a year old, but I've got 2 in my garage and will be sacrificing one to get the other flying again. Let me know if you need parts in the future. I hate throwing planes away so I keep them in a corner for parts.
