I am hoping to upgrade the transmitter that came with my MotionRC Cardinal. Was thinking of the radiomaster boxer or pocket. Does anyone know what radio protocol is used? The pitch is overly sensitive and the gyro only keeps the wings level. The beginner/intermediate/expert switch does nothing. The roll is stabilized and that’s it. Been flying it that way with no problems even though I’m incredibly rusty. If I could program a few things I would desensitize the elevator and ailerons and fly with no gyro as it retards my feeling for thermals.

Cardinal’s protocol?

Sorry, but the MotionRC Cardinal appears to be only available in the PNP (plug-N-play) version which does not include a radio. You'll need to provide more information for any of us to help you. Note that this model has been sold under several brands. I have two of these from MotionRC when it was named the "Mercury." It was original released from the company "Tech One."
See the more active thread over on RC Groups here: Tech One Mercury (NP) or Breeze (HK)

I stand corrected. I see that MotionRC does sell the Cardinal in a RTF package. I have no idea what protocol the supplied 4-channel 2.4GHz radio is using. It also comes with an NX3 Evo 6 axis gyro, but I would strongly recommend NOT installing this gyro. This glider does not need a gyro and it overly complicates the setup for a new pilot.
