Freewing teamed up with Aviation Design, a turbine jet manufacturer in Europe, to transpose AD's popular composite turbine Super Scorpion into a foam platform. I have been evaluating Freewing 80mm version and it is quite a fun airplane to fly. We will publish more information as it becomes available, but for now, the model uses the same 80mm 12 bladed EDF and 80A ESC as the other 80mm jets from Freewing. Aluminum trailing link struts and a spring-hinged nose wheel door and a zero-cheater-hole design (full internal ducting). The Super Scorpion is a fast, agile, and very unique looking sport jet. The Freewing 80mm F-5 Tiger II is going into production soon, and hopefully this Super Scorpion will be produced afterwards. It is a challenging jet to fly but very rewarding to pilots whose skills are up to the task.
