i hand launch my Dynam A-10 and its sort of the same situation. its slightly heavier then recommended, but it does fly and can be hand launched. just know that it will take a good toss into the air to get enough air for lift and subsequent flight. make sure you have a good arm or have someone that has a good arm do the throw because you need to really throw it. also, point up at a slight upward angle (10-20degrees nose up) use full throttle. dont try to climb too quickly or you will stall out.

Re: A-10 pusher weighing 2 pounds RTF
Pulled all of the power train. Converted the elevators to pull-pull & fish lines. At 1 pound 13 oz. RTF.
Need to carve up some foam filler blocks for unused servo pockets.
Definitely a nice hand launcher. Web O Calc computes a 16 mph stall speed. OK Will toss it in a few days after the rain stops.
Flip flopping between a geared 12 MM 6000 KV inrunner or a more normal outrunner direct drive.
