    I also tend to not like cheater holes because of that vulnerability and aesthetic looks. One of the jets that I have found that have not need cheater holes is the Saab AJS-37 Viggen.
    Flite test made a 70mm EDF prototype and found the holes were not needed. Which makes sense since the air frame was designed to be powered by a large engine which in this case was an engine used in commercial airliners and modified with an added afterburner. You can see the video for you self below at 3:00.

    Cheater holes on the bottom of an EDF is one thing I tend to shy away from. Nearly lost my 70mm Freewing 6S F-16 due to the cheater hole getting clogged with grass on take off. Barely got off the ground and was a real clencher getting back to the runway.

    Yup i have things i look for as well. I dont really like over the top stuff. But i do want at minimum 4ch of control, flaps and retracts. Thats why 70-80 will do just fine. I just don't need or want any more than that. Maybe its my boots on the ground style that never left since BCT, but my goal with models is to do as much as i can with what ive been given. Technology breaks. Simple irons will always work to the end and will never fail me.

    The Freewing 80mm EDF A-10 is my absolute favorite scale jet they’ have ever made by a long shot, not just because I like the full sized aircraft, but rather how it was designed by Freewing as an RC model. It was worth every penny. Everyone I have talked to so far who owns one loves it. It was one of those jets that actually exceeded my expectations, and that’ is difficult to do LOL. I do not buy every new RC aircraft (although there is nothing wrong with that) as I have a checklist worth of criteria it has to meet before I consider spending money on it. It’ is not about money, it’ is about whether I think I will be happy owning it for reasons I find important. Just because a particular airframe is one of my favorites, it does not necessarily mean I will purchase a RC model of it when announced. To add to that, an airframe that I am not particularly fond of does not necessarily mean I would not purchase it if produced as a RC model because I very well may.

    Same here, 80mm okay but I love to fly the big 90mm jets, the only 70mm I could do was the ME 262 and it turned out to be a great choice but of course it is a twin, so I guess that makes it a 140mm...............:)

    The F-22 would be a hard choice for me to buy, it doesn't do nothing for me as far as looks go but done super scale 90mm I might think about a purchase......!

    I guess I'm spoiled. I have a Honda Pilot and a 6X10 trailer to carry planes to the field. And my field is 800'x60' of asphalt, with lots of clear overfly area (no trees here in the desert), so I prefer the bigger planes. I absolutely love my twin 80mm A-10, and it's my favorite plane. And it actually breaks down into a small travel footprint with a handy storage rack I built.

    But I can understand why people would want the smaller 64-70mm stuff.

    I'm still hoping for a 90mm F-100 or twin 80mm F-22 for Project Foil! :)

    Totally agree brother, however thats how i came to get the fms A10. Its over the 350 level, but i was able to use the tower credit program to pick it up without much pain to the wallet. Otherwise, theres no way i could get a nice plane like that. The cz t28 i got second hand. Or i would have never would have gotten one of those.

    A jet like the Saab AJS-37 Viggen would be perfect for short fields no mater if its a 80mm or 90mm because it can take off in short distances and it can land in short distances due to its high lift and thrust reverser that can be set to engage as soon as the nose gear is compressed. Plus it could be backed up!

    For the most part I agree 100% Rman. This isn't to say I haven't seen any larger planes I didn't find attractive, the Phantom will be in my stable some day I think. But not until one of the most Iconic Navy Jets ever, gets a proper US Navy livery, or until I feel motivated enough to repaint it, which might be never, lol. The A-4 has been on my short list for a bit now. but that's 80mm. Some planes need to be larger, IE "C-130". Yea I will bite the bullet here for sure.     given our short-ish 100ft paved field and partial grass field I really like the mid sized stuff. The 80mm avainti is perfect as it handles everything well and can slow down without issue. Too big limits what I can bring to the field and likes a bit longer field, too small and the wire nose gear consistently bends up on the grass even when try to plop it in ( I have enough for take off but usually endup with at least a partial grass landing) Not too big, not too small, JUST RIGHT is middle 80 ish for me.

    I was hoping when the V2 Mirage was released that it would have LED’s, but it didn’t. I have already owned the Mirage and the recent changes/upgrades just weren’t enough to lure me back into purchasing a second time. I love the new color scheme though, and is my favorite on that jet. I was very happy to see them pick something bold like that.
