LOL! I would like clarification too on the guessing of foil regarding whether it has never been done in foam or never been done in foam of a specific size. Once we get that, maybe it will open some doors on guessing and hoping for my wishlist of a F-22, Mig-29, and F-18C. All those have been done in foam, just not in sizes I want. LOL

D**m T-CAT, are you a lawyer, lol. OK, Alpha, if you see this, can you please define the clue, "Has Never Been Done Before in Foam"? Just asking for a little clarification. Additionally if your feeling particularly generous, please define, "Foil is faster than Albatross"? Does this mean the real life plane is faster, or the model is faster?Originally posted by T-CAT View PostI thought that there was a possibility that “never been done before” also referred to specific size ranges. For example, a F-35 or F-22 has not been done in a 80-90mm EDF size range, but has in a 64-70mm EDF size. I can’t remneber who posted information about the size range reference, but maybe it from Tom or Alpha from Motion, but I could be wrong.
Best Regards
Woody
Alpha probably wont see this until 2 - 3 Pcific time.

The “never before in foam” has been used by Alpha in various forms. I’ve seen it used as a goal for upcoming projects, but it can be tweaked. For example “never before in foam a 90mm F-4 with retracts” so I can’t rule out any jet based on that. I don’t think Alpha has been specific as to whether Foil is a “never before”.Originally posted by tclaridge View PostI think the "never before in foam" rules out the F-22 and F-35, right?
Time for another clue or something. Alpha, throw us a bone here!

The problem is that you had about a dozen British plane companies. Since it's a "never before in foam", that leaves out the Dassault Mirage series and Rafael. It also leaves out the SAAB Drakken and Grippen, but leaves the Viggen.Originally posted by Woodcock View Post
A Lear Jet could be faster than Hoot. An F-100 could be maybe faster, but I'm not sure that L-39 is a pretty clean air frame. It could be real life faster, which would mean something super sonic in real life. So if we're hanging our hat on something super sonic, and has never been done in foam before, it will be a popular plane, IE F-100 Super Saber. It will not be something weird or obscure. There are a whole host of Migs that fit the bill. But not to many US based air frames other than the F-100, Sounds like we may have a Russian Jet coming. I think most of the main line US jets have been all ready done in foam in some sort of way. If it is Russian, I hope it's a Mig 25.
Put your thinking caps on! What popular Euro Fighter, that is super sonic, popular, and never been done before. Has a Mig 25 been done before?

A3D max speed = 610MPH/530 KnOriginally posted by crxmanpat View PostDoubtful, as we were told FOIL is faster than HOOT (the new L-39 which does about 100). Although an A-3 or B-66 would be cool.
B-66 max speed = 631MPH/548Kn
L-39 max speed = 466MPH/405Kn Do Not Exceed Speed 609MPH

If we’re talking “foil” as in foiling the enemy radars, the F-100F was the original Wild Weasel followed by the 105 then F-4 so I’m guessing that’s possibly it. Never really cared for any of the Centruy series planes so I’ll pass but I know there’s plenty of people who can’t wait for it.

Simply constructive conjecture on my part, my good man....Just wasting a guess on an old bird that wouldn't make it into the lineup, because she ain't so supersonic like the F-100 or F-101 VooDoo....I think we've all had enough of guessing...Hopefully when "she" shows herself, we won't be disappointed....

As far as I know the foam model and full size both are in production. In fact, orders are filled to extend production at Vero Beach through summer 2022.Originally posted by Hardway View PostThe little Archer is a great plane!!! Is it still in production??

Hey you live in Ventura! I used to! Where do you fly? (I would be happy with an upgraded F-86 and a Mig-15)Originally posted by Veltro View PostI'm convinced it's the F-22. It's the only jet I can think of that no one has been able to counter ("foil") and it's primarily composite, not aluminum.
My tastes are more simple. I'd like to see an 80mm F-84 Thunderjet, F9F Panther, or Mig 15. An F-86 Sabre upgrade would be welcome, too.

I saw the Freewing F-15 super scale in my LHS yesterday. It is awesome. I can't wait for FOIL!

Understand and I approve! I’ll just say I believe Simon was quite genuinely surprised at the actual interest level of a Piper RC model.Originally posted by Alpha.MotionRC View PostF22Trainer, not that I'm aware of, but admittedly I'm out of the loop on Media/Events these days so I cannot say definitively. That department has all the fun while I'm slaving away making new toys for all you bad girls and boys... oh wait, that's really fun, too.
I guess we're even :)
