Project Foil Guesses?

If we’re talking “foil” as in foiling the enemy radars, the F-100F was the original Wild Weasel followed by the 105 then F-4 so I’m guessing that’s possibly it. Never really cared for any of the Centruy series planes so I’ll pass but I know there’s plenty of people who can’t wait for it.

Doubtful, as we were told FOIL is faster than HOOT (the new L-39 which does about 100). Although an A-3 or B-66 would be cool.

A3D max speed = 610MPH/530 Kn
B-66 max speed = 631MPH/548Kn
L-39 max speed = 466MPH/405Kn Do Not Exceed Speed 609MPH

A Lear Jet could be faster than Hoot. An F-100 could be maybe faster, but I'm not sure that L-39 is a pretty clean air frame. It could be real life faster, which would mean something super sonic in real life. So if we're hanging our hat on something super sonic, and has never been done in foam before, it will be a popular plane, IE F-100 Super Saber. It will not be something weird or obscure. There are a whole host of Migs that fit the bill. But not to many US based air frames other than the F-100, Sounds like we may have a Russian Jet coming. I think most of the main line US jets have been all ready done in foam in some sort of way. If it is Russian, I hope it's a Mig 25.

Put your thinking caps on! What popular Euro Fighter, that is super sonic, popular, and never been done before. Has a Mig 25 been done before?

The problem is that you had about a dozen British plane companies. Since it's a "never before in foam", that leaves out the Dassault Mirage series and Rafael. It also leaves out the SAAB Drakken and Grippen, but leaves the Viggen.

The “never before in foam” has been used by Alpha in various forms. I’ve seen it used as a goal for upcoming projects, but it can be tweaked. For example “never before in foam a 90mm F-4 with retracts” so I can’t rule out any jet based on that. I don’t think Alpha has been specific as to whether Foil is a “never before”.
Time for another clue or something. Alpha, throw us a bone here!

For example, a F-35 or F-22 has not been done in a 80-90mm EDF size range, but has in a 64-70mm EDF size. I can’t remneber who posted information about the size range reference, but maybe it from Tom or Alpha from Motion, but I could be wrong.

Additionally if your feeling particularly generous, please define, "Foil is faster than Albatross"? Does this mean the real life plane is faster, or the model is faster?

Man I'm gonna have to review those clues. Sure sounds like it may be something I will have no interest in. I do remember something about it not being a Mig 25. Man Apparently my view of a super cool plane, isn't super cool anymore. : (

My problem is, I do not see an F-22 or F-35 as being super cool, although I can see where many, many would think of them as super cool. Only cool plane I can think of is an F-100, or Super Cool Mig 25. Has he denied it being an F-100?

+1! In Eu the F22 or F35 isnt cool particularly xD. The Viggen is cool, I guess we love canards (Eurofighter ejem..). But then I have never feel attracted to buying the Eurofigher frankly.

I see that we all have different tastes and we all wish for a particular plane, eventually its going to be what its got to be, wonder if we all are going to like it or not.

Different strokes for different folks... What you find super cool I do not and vise versa. In the grand scheme of things most of us will likely get what we want. It is really just a matter of time. Three of my favorite aircraft have already been created, another one will never be created unless materials or processes change. Oh well.... everything else is just icing on the cake.

Ya know mate, I actually think a Viggen would be cool. I would most likely get one. I watched the video of that guy that scratch built one, Pretty amazing flyer, got my attention. Unfortunately I have no idea how fast a Viggen is. I'll have to look that up. But I do think it would be a cool plane, and a super cool flyer. So if it were one of those I'd be good. Yes our tastes vary, but I think yours and mine are more alike than not. Ya know Alpha is good! Funny thing he actually liked one my most inexpensive and favorite models. Surprised me actually.
