EDF F-111 one of your next missions!

How about a decent sized F-111 as one of your next projects?im sure that the swing wing and box could be adapted from existing F-14 model to cut the development and production down while providing us with an iconic aircraft to go tank plinking with! It could be made with maybe a twin 90 or a single 105mm EFF unit to make it not quite so piggish. Of course scale landing gear is a must or as close as possible at least. No park flyer stuff with wire gear that’s fixed
Whatchya think Alpha? Is it doable? Same price range as F-14 I’m thinking, but that’s ok for such an awesome aircraft

Perhaps one of the biggest concerns with an Aardvark EDF is that the prototype aircraft never had that large a following. It's considered by many to be the epitome of the Government Boondoggle, and part of the reason the F-14 Tomcat was developed, was that the promised "multiservice capability" of the Aardvark was never realized. The Tomcat took many of the lessons learned from the Aardvark's problems, and addressed them to fit the Navy's requirements. The Air Force's Selection Committee actually preferred the aircraft design from Boeing, but then Defense Secretary McNamara chose General Dynamics' design on the premise that it shared more common components between the Air Force aircraft and the Navy aircraft. Despite over 560 F-111s being built, and some 30 years of service, it never achieved the kind of following that many other aircraft enjoyed.

Great post. I remember as a USAF brat living at Scott AFB in 1966-67 and being intrigued with the F-111. At the time it was going through Navy testing which ultimately was a no go...
