  • Of the Freewing 64 which one is the "best"

I know the "best" is subjective. However there no denying some models perform better than others. My friend has the Mig and I'm leaning toward it and the Lippish (spelling). I have a 64mm 4s power system that I would be putting in, if the plane had a 4s system (other than the Lippish. Being able to toss and land on it's belly is must.

I have a F-15 currently and love it. It gives me my Jet fix here at my house for when I can't make it to the field.

Hands down, for me it's the 4s version of the Freewing F/A-18. But I put the older 5 blade fan on 4s. Better flight time and no performance loss. I tried the 12 blade, but went back to the 5 blade. Rock solid, and will do anything you ask of it. Remove all the landing gear and just toss it. I also removed the steering servo, and fly with RT 2700 4s 35c. Battery never gets warm.

Well, so far the only EDFs I have at all, are the Stinger 64 (3S version) and the 64mm A-10, both from Freewing. I am now up to 8 flights on the Stinger (without crashing, knock on wood), but haven't maidened the Warthog yet. I am very much enjoying the Stinger, though I've seem comments from other pilots that they have not had similar success with it.

I might maiden the 'Hawg this weekend.

I dont have all the Freewing 64's. But I own the P15 and Mig15. Several flights on each of them. A good mod on the P15 is a little dab a glue on the edf motor mounts. Oh and I had to lengthen the edf plugs. They are a bugger to plug in from hard landings. These 2 jets are very slippery in the air. But sure are fun.

Panther is a very smooth flying model. A decent intro to EDF airplane.

Nice to have even as an experienced EDF flyer because of easy transport and no field assembly, letting you make the most of limited time available to fly.

I'm running mine on 3S and have the wheels on it. I flew it without wheels fr a while and noted that landings were going to slowly rip the belly apart. Soft grass would not need the wheels. We have rocks, cactus and sand burrs.

I don't have any of the others in the 64mm series yet.
FF gliders and rubber power since 1966, CL 1970-1990, RC since 1975.

current planes from 1/2 oz to 22 lbs
